Last night, at approximately 19h08, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a call from a client who had a reported a shoplifting incident at a well known service station on Umhlanga Rocks Drive, in the Sunningdale area.
A detailed description of the suspects and their vehicle was immediately shared to all our Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team. They responded promptly and arrived on scene within minutes, successfully apprehending three suspects as they were leaving the service station with their vehicle.
The items taken from the convenience store was recovered in their possession.
Durban North SAPS were notified and arrived on scene a short while later. Upon, searching the suspects’ vehicle, various clothing items were discovered. The suspects were questioned could not provide a reasonable explanation for possessing these items, leading Officers to believe they were stolen from a clothing store.
The suspects were then transported to Durban North SAPS and will be facing charges of shoplifting and being in possession of suspected stolen items.
