Swift response leads to Kenville hijacked vehicle recovered 35 minutes later

Earlier this afternoon at approximately 14h07 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a call from a client who witnessed a hijacking on Rosary Road in the Kenville area.

It was later established that a blue Toyota Etios being used to transport school children was hijacked by four armed suspects. Armed Response Officers together with members of our Special Operations Team were notified accordingly to be on the lookout.

Within 35 minutes the hijacked vehicle was recovered and found abandoned on a dirt road in Kwamashu A Section by members of our Special Operations Team, and members of the Provincial Vehicle and Trio Task Team from the SAPS.

The scene was secured and the SAPS will be investigating further.

The driver and the school children were fortunately uninjured however were very traumatised.
