Three males were apprehended in the Umdloti area and proactively prevented from committing a crime.
At approximately 22h30 three males were noticed on South Beach Road acting suspiciously by our dedicated area supervisor.
Our supervisor immediately called for assistance and our Armed Response Team were dispatched and arrived on scene. While interviewing the three males one male attempted to flee on foot. Luckily our quick-thinking officers managed to apprehend the male before getting away.
Upon searching the males knifes, pepper spray canister and housebreaking implements were found in their possession and it is believed that the suspects were on their way to commit a crime in the area and were proactively prevented by our observant team.
Durban North SAPS were contacted and arrived on scene a short while later and transported the suspects to Durban North SAPS where they were charged accordingly.
