Two Hijacked Vehicles Tracked and Recovered in Under 24 Hours

Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 14h54, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team (SOT) was activated by Tracker SA following a hijacking involving a white Isuzu bakkie. The vehicle was hijacked outside a well-known shopping mall in the Newlands area.

Marshall Security SOT immediately responded and, working alongside the Tracker SA ground team and the KwaMashu SAPS Trio Crimes Unit, located the vehicle abandoned on a dirt road in Ntuzuma A Section. The recovered vehicle was transported to Ntuzuma Police Station for further processing. A formal case was opened at Newlands SAPS.

In a second vehicle hijacking recovery operation, less than 24 hours later, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received a call at approximately 12h05 regarding a white Hyundai parked on Mahogany Drive in Izinga, which had been reported as hijacked.

Marshall Security’s Armed Response Officers and Special Operations Team were immediately dispatched to the location.

Upon arrival, officers located a Hyundai matching the description. A VIN check was conducted with SAPS and confirmed the vehicle had been hijacked in the Alexandra area of Pietermaritzburg in June this year.

Durban North SAPS and a private tracking company arrived on scene a short while later. The vehicle was transported to Durban North SAPS for further investigations.

Both recoveries demonstrate the effectiveness of rapid response in combatting vehicle-related crime. Marshall Security remains committed to proactive intervention and continued collaboration with SAPS and private tracking partners to keep our roads safer.
