At approximately 20h40 last night members of our Special Operations Team were activated to assist Tracker SA with locating a Ford Ranger that had been hijacked in Kwamashu.
Team members together with members of the SAPS and Tracker ground team responded to the last known location of the vehicle, but it was nowhere to be found. It appeared that the tracking device wasn’t updating and it is believed that the suspects were using a jamming device.
An hour and a half later, the tracking device started to update again and members responded swiftly. The vehicle was then successfully recovered and found abandoned in Kwamashu E Section.
The SAPS were on scene for further investigation.
