Two wanted hijackers were arrested and their vehicle confiscated following a short high speed chase with members of our Special Operations Team in Kwadabeka yesterday.
At approximately 11h30 a vehicle wanted for numerous hijackings in the greater Durban area was spotted travelling on Dumisani Makhaye Drive by members of our Special Ops Team.
After a short speed chase the vehicle was eventually stopped by our Special Ops Team together with the assistance of SAPS Provincial Task Team, Metro Police, RTI and Netstar ground team where two suspects were immediately arrested.
Upon further investigation, it was established that the vehicle that the suspects were driving was hijacked in the Wentworth area in January this year.
Both the suspects and the hijacked vehicle, which had been fitted with cloned plates, were taken to Ntuzuma SAPS for further investigation and processing.
