Yesterday evening our team managed to arrest a suspect that was attempting to steal building material on a client’s property in the Springfield park area.
At approximately 18h20 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received multiple alarm zone activations from a client’s business premises on Ashfield Avenue in the Springfield Park area.
Multiple Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched to our client’s property. As our first Armed Response Officer arrived on scene, a suspect was spotted attempting to steal building material and started running through the business premises as an attempt to evade arrest.
Our Armed Response Officers without hesitation immediately pursued the suspect and managed to apprehend him on site. Our client was informed accordingly and wanted to proceed with opening a case against the suspect. The Greenwood Park SAPS were informed and arrived on scene a short while later and transported the suspect to Greenwood Park SAPS, where he will be charged for attempted theft.
In a separate incident, a suspect was arrested after being found with items that had been stolen from a housebreaking on a non-client property in the Effingham area this morning.
At approximately 06h50 the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received reports via a WhatsApp crime alert group of a suspect walking with a door and security gate on Belmont Road.
Multiple Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched and spotted the suspect a few minutes later still walking on Belmont Road with the items. When the suspect saw our officers approaching he attempted to flee but he couldn’t outrun our Officer and was immediately apprehended.
Upon further investigation, it was established that the door and the security gate had earlier been stolen from a non-client’s property on Belmont Road. The homeowners were contacted and advised accordingly, who wanted to proceed with opening a case against the suspect.
The Greenwood Park SAPS were advised and arrived on scene a short while later. The suspect was transported to the Greenwood Park SAPS where he will be charged with housebreaking and theft.
