Cell Phone Theft Suspect Arrested, Endless Search Pays Off

At approximately 11h21 yesterday morning, a Security Officer stationed at a well known school in the Durban North area, reported that his cell phone had been stolen from the guard room.

The Officer had briefly left the guard room unattended while assisting a parent and discovered the device missing upon his return.

Marshall Security Armed Response Officers attended to the complaint and immediately began investigating the incident.

CCTV footage from the school was reviewed, revealing that an unknown suspect entered the unattended guard room, swiftly stole the cell phone, and fled.

A detailed description of the suspect was obtained and circulated to operational teams.

At approximately 16h30 later that afternoon, Marshall Security Special Operations Team members(SOT), whilst conducting patrols along Kenneth Kaunda Road spotted a suspect matching the description circulated earlier in the day.

Our SOT members immediately contacted Durban North SAPS Crime Prevention for assistance.

Together, Marshall Security and SAPS approached and apprehended the suspect.

A search of the suspect led to the recovery of the stolen cell phone taken earlier.

The suspect and recovered property were transported to Durban North SAPS for further processing and investigation.

This incident once again demonstrates that Marshall Security does not give up in the fight against crime. Through persistence, teamwork, and close cooperation with SAPS, criminals are located and held accountable.

Marshall Security encourages all community members to report criminal activity to SAPS immediately. Timely reporting plays a critical role in successful arrests and proves that when communities and law enforcement work together, crime does not go unanswered.
