At approximately 12h00 on Saturday 9 January, Marshall Security received information of a business robbery that occurred in Eshowe.
Four suspects held up the staff members and stole cellphones to an estimated value of R100 000 and fled the scene in a Toyota Corolla. The information received was that the vehicle was travelling towards Durban.
Our Special Operations Team were activated and together with assistance from SAPS. The vehicle was spotted on the N2 South after Umhlanga and the teams proceeded to give chase. Our team and SAPS members were able to stop the vehicle and apprehend five suspects.
One illegal firearm, a knife and some of the cellphones from the robbery were recovered.
The suspects were arrested and taken to Durban North Police Station for further investigation and processing.
