Five Successful Vehicle Recoveries Over Two Days

Last week our teams responded to five separate stolen and hijacked vehicle recovery incidents over two days.

On Tuesday evening at approximately 20h30, a Ford Ranger was taken in a house robbery in the Inanda area by an unknown amount of armed suspects. Our Special Operations Team, Durban K9 Unit and Newlands SAPS were activated by Cartrack and immediately responded, whereafter the vehicle was found abandoned and recovered in Maasbanker Drive in the Newlands East area.

The scene was handed over to Newlands SAPS for further investigation.

Later that evening at approximately 22h00 a silver Nissan Almera was hijacked in the Newlands area by two armed suspects. Our teams were activated by Tracker Connect and the vehicle was recovered in Hayfield Place in Kwamashu, where it had been abandoned.

On Wednesday morning at approximately 10h30, members of our Special Operations Team were activated to assist Netstar with locating a bakkie that had been stolen from Glen Anil Street in the Glen Anil area.

Our members immediately responded to the last known location of the vehicle and within 15 minutes of being activated, the vehicle was found abandoned and was recovered on a side road off Impungushe Road in Kwamashu N – Section after it had been severely stripped. Well done to our Special Ops team together with the assistance of the Netstar ground team and the Phoenix Trio Crimes Unit.

Whilst our team members were still busy with the above mentioned recovery, they were again dispatched at approximately 11h15 to assist Matrix tracking, this time with finding a hijacked Corsa bakkie in the Umbilo area.

Our team members immediately responded and within 5 minutes of being activated, the vehicle was found abandoned and recovered on Khozi in Kwamashu K – Section together with the assistance of Matrix ground team and the SAPS Vehicle and Trio Task Team.

Later that evening at approximately 18h40 our team members were yet again activated, this time to assist Tracker SA and Matrix Tracking with a VW Polo that had been hijacked in Kwamashu.

After a lengthy track the vehicle was finally found abandoned and recovered on a dirt road, Sivumelwane Road, in Kwamashu A-Section by members of our Special Ops Team, Tracker SA ground team, Matrix Ground team and the SAPS Greenwood Park Trio Crimes unit.
