From Salt Rock to KwaMashu: SOT Tracks Down Stolen Fortuner

At approximately 15h00 this afternoon, a stolen white Toyota Fortuner became the focus of a coordinated operation involving Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team (SOT), Netstar, and SAPS after the vehicle was reported stolen from the Salt Rock area on the North Coast.

With tracking updates indicating that the Fortuner was travelling southbound along the N2, Marshall Security SOT members moved into strategic positions along the route, preparing to intercept the vehicle before it could travel further.

Their efforts paid off when the stolen Fortuner was spotted near the KwaMashu off-ramp. SOT members immediately moved in pursuit, bringing the vehicle to a halt a short while later and apprehending the suspect behind the wheel.

An inspection of the recovered vehicle revealed that one of its windows had been broken, believed to have been used to gain access to the Fortuner.

The operation was supported by aerial assistance from Netstar’s helicopter, with Greenwood Park SAPS, Umhlali SAPS, Netstar ground teams, and other security providers also responding to assist.

The suspect was transported to Umhlali SAPS for further investigation and processing, while the stolen Toyota Fortuner was successfully recovered.

Marshall Security commends all role players involved for their coordination and teamwork, demonstrating the value of collaboration between private security, tracking companies, and SAPS in responding to vehicle theft crime.
