At approximately 11h30, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received a call from a client on Anthony Road, stating that they were witnessing a suspect stealing their gate motor after the suspect derailed their gate to get into the property.
Our Armed Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched to the area with a description of the suspect. After a short search for the suspect and a brief foot chase, our Armed Reaction Officers managed to apprehend the suspect with the stolen gate motor in his possession in Kenneth Kaunda Road.
The suspect was handed over to SAPS for further investigation and processing. SAPS will be investigating the potential links to numerous theft incidents of gate motors in the greater Durban North area.
