Locked In. Locked Up. Workshop Suspect Arrested in Durban North.

At approximately 07h21 this morning, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received a call from a parent of a learner at a well-known school located on Uitsig Road, Durban North, who reported that staff members at the school had spotted a suspect inside one of the workshops after he entered through a window. The staff successfully locked him inside, preventing his escape, but required assistance to apprehend the suspect.

Multiple Marshall Security Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers were directed by staff to the room where the suspect was being detained. Our teams entered the room without hesitation, apprehended the suspect, and found a weed eater partially pushed through a window, indicating an attempted theft.

SAPS were notified and arrived shortly thereafter to take the suspect into custody for further legal action.

This incident once again highlights the power of community awareness, knowing who to call, teamwork, and rapid response, as quick-thinking staff and fast action from Marshall Security ensured that the suspect arrested in the Durban North workshop was caught before any property could be stolen.

At Marshall Security, we don’t just respond, we deliver results.
