Marshall Security, Tracker SA and SAPS Team Up to Recover Stolen VW Polo and Arrest Suspects

A stolen VW Polo was recovered and two suspects arrested following a coordinated operation involving Marshall Security Special Operations Team members, Tracker SA, SAPS Provincial Task Team, and SAPS KwaMashu Trio Crimes.

On 23 June 2026 at approximately 10h30, members received an activation from Tracker SA regarding a VW Polo that had been stolen from Intersite Avenue in Springfield Park.

Tracking information indicated that the stolen vehicle was travelling along Inanda Road towards the KwaMashu area. Members were further advised that the suspects were actively attempting to jam the vehicle’s tracking signal.

Acting on the information received, members immediately responded and strategically positioned themselves in the area while maintaining a lookout for the stolen vehicle.

A short while later, additional information indicated that the suspects had stopped in KwaMashu Section C and had begun stripping the vehicle.

Members immediately proceeded to the location, where they discovered several suspects actively stripping the stolen vehicle. Two suspects were successfully apprehended on scene, while three additional suspects fled on foot.

Members pursued the fleeing suspects; however, despite extensive efforts, the remaining suspects managed to evade arrest.

Further investigation at the scene resulted in the recovery of various vehicle-breaking implements, as well as a signal jammer found in the possession of the apprehended suspects.

Members of the South African Police Service took over the scene, and the arrested suspects, recovered vehicle, and all recovered exhibits were transported to KwaMashu SAPS for further investigation and processing.

Through intelligence sharing, rapid response, and teamwork, role players were able to recover the stolen vehicle, apprehend suspects, and disrupt criminal activity. These partnerships continue to play a critical role in combating vehicle crime and ensuring safer communities.
