On Monday, April 22, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre was alerted to a theft from a motor vehicle that had occurred on the previous Saturday morning on Roehampton Way in the Durban North area. The suspects, utilising a black Hyundai i10, had forcibly entered the victim’s vehicle, which was parked roadside, and stole various items, including the spare wheel.
The incident was promptly reported to Durban North SAPS, initiating an official case.
Subsequently, on Wednesday, April 24, our Special Operations Team, while on patrol along Margret Maytom Avenue, observed the suspect vehicle heading towards Umhlanga Rocks Drive. The team followed and successfully intercepted the vehicle. Inside, two suspects were found along with numerous car break-in tools and two extension jack handles.
SAPS Durban North arrived on scene a short while later and took over the scene and transported the vehicle and suspects to the Durban North Police Station for further investigation and processing.
Well done to our team members on yet another successful apprehension.
