Yesterday, at approximately 19h40, Marshall Security received information regarding a stolen grey Toyota Hilux that had last been spotted in the Westbrook area.
The vehicle had previously been reported stolen, with a criminal case registered at Gingindlovu SAPS.
Marshall Security Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team were immediately dispatched to the area.
While conducting patrols and searching for the stolen vehicle, the Toyota Hilux was spotted near the intersection of Westgate and Cycad Drive.
Upon realising that he was being followed, the suspect accelerated and attempted to flee at high speed.
Additional Marshall Security Armed Response Officers immediately responded to assist, and a pursuit ensued through the Westbrook area.
Following the pursuit, officers successfully brought the stolen Toyota Hilux to a standstill on Genazzano Road, where the suspect was immediately apprehended.
Members of Tongaat SAPS arrived on scene shortly thereafter and took the suspect into custody for further investigation and processing. The stolen Toyota Hilux was successfully recovered and handed over to SAPS.
Marshall Security commends the vigilance and determination of its Armed Response Officers and members of the Special Operations Team, whose rapid response and coordinated efforts resulted in the successful recovery of the stolen vehicle and the apprehension of the suspect.
