This afternoon, at approximately 14h30, Marshall Security’s Armed Response Officers were conducting a routine patrol in the Park Hill area when they observed a suspicious individual walking along Blackburn Road, carrying a gas cylinder.
Officers engaged the individual and questioned him about the origin of the gas cylinder. The suspect failed to provide a credible explanation or any proof of ownership. Given the circumstances, officers suspected the item to be stolen and immediately apprehended the individual.
Greenwood Park SAPS was contacted and arrived shortly after. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the police station for further investigation and legal processing. Charges related to the possession of suspected stolen property are currently being investigated.
