Yesterday, at approximately 19h30, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team (SOT) received information from Netstar and Matrix Tracking regarding a white VW Polo that had been stolen in the Westville area.

Working closely with both tracking teams, members proceeded to KwaMashu, where the signal indicated the vehicle`s position. Upon arrival, officers found several suspects actively stripping the vehicle.

When the suspects noticed members approaching, they fled on foot. SOT members gave chase; however, the suspects managed to evade arrest.

The stolen VW Polo was recovered by SOT members, together with Netstar, Matrix, and Metro Police, and was later transported to KwaMashu SAPS for further processing and investigation.

Approximately 30 minutes later, SOT members received a second activation, this time from Cartrack regarding a hijacked Isuzu bakkie taken in the KwaMashu area.

Working closely with Cartrack, members tracked the vehicle to the vicinity. Initial attempts to locate it were unsuccessful, leading officers to suspect that the tracking signal was being jammed. SOT members then strategically expanded their search into known hotspots. A short while later, the hijacked Isuzu bakkie was recovered abandoned by our SOT ,Cartrack and Metro Police in KwaMashu.
