This afternoon, at approximately 12h15, GWA Armed Response Officers in Westmead received a tip-off about a blue Nissan 1400 traveling on Henry Pennington Road, reported stolen from the Seshego area in Polokwane in July this year.
Our vigilant Armed Response Officers immediately spotted the vehicle and discreetly began to follow it. Sensing they were being pursued, the occupants of the vehicle stopped on Henry Pennington Road above the N3 Highway and attempted to flee on foot. Fortunately, Pinetown SAPS officers, who were patrolling nearby, noticed the suspects’ behavior and quickly moved to assist our team. GWA Tactical Officers soon arrived on the scene as well to offer support.
After a lengthy foot chase, both suspects were promptly cornered and apprehended by GWA Tactical Officers, GWA Armed Response Officers, and Pinetown SAPS members in the Marianhill Park area. It was later confirmed that both suspects were foreign nationals.
Upon verification by Pinetown SAPS, it was established that the Nissan 1400 was indeed the same vehicle reported stolen in Polokwane. Both the suspects and the recovered vehicle were transported to Pinetown SAPS for further investigation and processing.
This operation highlights the effectiveness of collaboration between the Greater Westmead Association, Marshall Security, and Pinetown SAPS. A job well done to all involved for their swift response and unwavering dedication to ensuring the safety and security of our community.
