In the early hours of the morning, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received an alarm activation from a client’s premises on Dolphin Crescent, Shaka’s Rock. Multiple Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched.
After contacting the homeowner while our Armed Response Officers were responding, it was reported that the client’s vehicle had been stolen from their property. This was also reported by the Ballito Neighbourhood Watch Patrollers.
On arrival, initial investigations revealed that the suspects had derailed the driveway gate and forced open a dining room window. Their clear objective was to obtain the vehicle keys. Once inside, they located the keys, started the white Toyota Hilux, and fled the scene.
The vehicle was fitted with a tracking device, and members of our Special Operations Team were immediately activated to assist in locating the stolen vehicle.
Shortly after, our officers, in collaboration with the Matrix Vehicle Tracking team, located the stolen vehicle abandoned in Umlazi D Section.
Umlazi SAPS was contacted, and the vehicle was transported to Umlazi SAPS for further investigation.
This incident highlights the importance of working security systems, coordinated response teams, and integrated vehicle tracking technology.
