This morning members of our Special Operations Team were activated to assist Tracker SA in locating a Toyota Hilux; a search which led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle, as well as a Volvo that had been hijacked earlier this month.
The Toyota Hilux was stolen from the Glenwood area by an unknown amount of suspects, who had forced open a homeowner’s driveway gate and proceeded to steal the vehicle.
Marshall Security Special Operations Team, together with the Tracker SA ground team and the SAPS Provincial Trio Task Team, proceeded to the last known possible location of the stolen motor vehicle.
After tracking the vehicle for over three hours, it was finally found abandoned in a parking lot of a commercial building on Umgeni Road in the Durban CBD.
While on scene, the teams noticed a suspicious grey Volvo V40 with no number plates that was parked in the same parking lot. It was later established that the vehicle had been hijacked earlier this month in the Kwamashu area.
Both scenes were secured by the SAPS who will be investigating further.
