At approximately 11h26 yesterday morning, a white VW Polo which had been reported stolen in October 2024 in the Amanzimtoti area was spotted travelling along the R102 near the Shakaskraal area.
Details of the wanted vehicle were immediately shared with law enforcement partners.
Shortly thereafter, officers from Marshall Security and another private security company successfully located the vehicle and followed it for a short distance before safely intercepting it at the corner of the R102 and Ballito Drive.
Umhlali SAPS was contacted, and the vehicle, together with the driver, was handed over for further investigation and processing.
This interception highlights the critical role that technology-driven crime detection systems, rapid information sharing, and coordinated response between security teams and law enforcement play in identifying and intercepting stolen vehicles before they disappear into surrounding areas.
