Warehouse Owners Caught in the Act Selling Stolen Inventory

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team, together with SAPS Crime Intelligence and Pinetown SAPS, collaborated on information received regarding an ongoing theft incident.

The complainant, currently overseas, had arranged to store approximately 160 metric tons of waste paper at a warehouse in the Mariannhill Industrial Park area. However, he came forward with evidence indicating that the owners of the storage facility were illegally selling off his stock.

Information was received that the warehouse owners were in the process of loading more stock onto a truck. An operation was swiftly coordinated by the involved teams, and they proceeded to the warehouse, where the suspects were found actively loading the stolen property onto a truck.

The owners of the storage facility were immediately apprehended, and 20 tons of stolen waste paper, valued at approximately R50,000, was recovered. Further investigation revealed that the suspects had already stolen and sold 68 tons of waste paper, valued at R163,000.

The suspects were transported to Pinetown Police Station for further investigation and processing.

Marshall Security extends its sincere appreciation to Pinetown SAPS and SAPS Crime Intelligence for their collaboration and professionalism in bringing this high-value theft case to light. Together, we continue to protect our communities and ensure that criminal enterprises are brought to justice.
