At 16h40 this afternoon, a report was received on a WhatsApp Crime Alert group, stating that a suspect had jumped out of a complex on Underwood Road and fled with stolen lights. The suspect was last seen heading towards Peto Road in Umgeni Park.
Marshall Security’s Armed Response Officers were immediately dispatched in search of the suspect.
As the search unfolded, our Officers were patrolling the area when they spotted the suspect on Brownsdrift Road. Upon noticing our team, the suspect immediately fled, jumping over fences and into several properties along Hunters Way. A vigilant resident of Brownsdrift informed the Officers that the suspect had entered a nearby bush area.
Without hesitation, our Officers followed the suspect’s trail into the bush and successfully apprehended the individual with the lights in his possession.
The property owner, a valued Marshall Security client, confirmed that the stolen lights belonged to him. The suspect was then handed over to Greenwood Park SAPS for further processing, and a formal case has been opened.
