This afternoon at approximately 12:35, the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre was contacted by one of our clients on Athlone Road, in the Park Hill area. Our client reported that a theft incident had occurred at a non-Marshall Security client’s premises on Athlone Road where the suspect stole a hose pipe and an electrical extension cord.
A description of the suspect was circulated to all our Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team.
Our team immediately went in search of the suspect. A short while later, the suspect matching the description for the theft incident was spotted walking on North Coast Road in the Greenwood Park area and swiftly apprehended.
Upon searching the contents of his black plastic bag, the stolen items from the homeowner’s premises were discovered and recovered.
The homeowner was informed accordingly of the arrest and desired pressing charges against the suspect. Greenwood Park SAPS were dispatched and arrived on the scene a short while later. The suspect was transported to Greenwood Park SAPS and will be facing charges of theft.
The suspect had recently been released from prison after serving a 6 month sentence for a similar incident earlier on in the year where the suspect was apprehended by our team in the Avoca area.
The swift and coordinated action by Marshall Security’s team underscores our ongoing commitment to community safety. We commend our officers for their vigilance and quick response.
