This afternoon, at approximately 14h45, Marshall Security’s Emergency Dispatch Centre was alerted to a vehicle theft on Newport Avenue in the Glen Ashley area. A Toyota Fortuner had been stolen shortly after the driver briefly stepped away from the vehicle.
According to the vehicle owner, the Fortuner was parked between 14h10 and 14h15. Upon returning at 14h30, they discovered it had been stolen.
Soon after the alert, Netstar activated Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team to assist in locating the stolen vehicle. Working in conjunction with Netstar ground teams, Metro Police, and other private security companies, our team launched an extensive search.
Roughly an hour later, the Toyota Fortuner was successfully recovered at a property in the Wiggins area. The vehicle was then transported to Durban North SAPS for further processing and investigation.
This incident highlights the power of rapid response and intelligence-led tracking in vehicle recovery.
