This afternoon, at approximately 12h30, while patrolling Chris Hani Road near Ardrossan Road in Durban North, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team (SOT) spotted a suspicious male carrying two black rims and tyres.
Members immediately stopped the individual to investigate. Upon questioning, the suspect was unable to provide a valid explanation for where he had obtained the items and was immediately apprehended. Greenwood Park SAPS Trio Crimes Unit was contacted for assistance.
Upon SAPS arrival, officers questioned the suspect further. He then admitted that the rims and tyres had been stolen from a property on Conyngham Road. SAPS and our team proceeded to the address to verify the information. The property owner, unaware of the theft, confirmed that the items were indeed his and had been stolen from the back of the premises.
The suspect, along with the recovered rims and tyres, was transported to Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation and processing.
This arrest highlights the importance of vigilance, rapid tactical response, and strong collaboration between private security and SAPS. Thanks to quick action and solid teamwork, stolen property was recovered, and another suspect has been taken off the streets.
Marshall Security remains committed to keeping our communities safe—one arrest at a time.
