At 03h30 this morning, our Emergency Dispatch Centre received panic signals from a client in a complex in Waterkant Road, Durban North. The client advised that there was a robbery in progress in the unit next door.
Our Armed Reaction Officers were dispatched to the scene and upon arrival, the victim advised that he had heard noises outside. When he went to investigate, he was confronted by two armed suspects. The suspects forced him back into the house and tied him up while they ransacked the house. The suspects took TVs, household appliances, a cell phone, and his Mercedes X Class.
The Mercedes had a tracking device fitted and our Special Operations Team with Matrix tracked the signal to the Kwa-Mashu area where the vehicle was recovered.
A case has been opened with SAPS for further investigation.
