At approximately 08h15 this morning a maroon Kia Sportage without front number plates was spotted driving along Umhlanga Rocks Drive by members of our Special Operations Team.
Upon further investigation the registration was obtained from the back number plate and a vehicle check was conducted via the 10111 police call centre. It was established that the vehicle was wanted for a theft case and that the vehicle had been stolen in Willowvale in the Eastern Cape area in July this year.
Our members continued to follow the vehicle and managed to bring the suspect to a stop on Umhlanga Rocks Drive near the Sunningdale area.
The suspect was arrested and handed over to the SAPS for further investigations and processing.
