In August, 185 incidents were reported to our Emergency Dispatch Centre. This is a 5% increase compared to the rate we recorded in July. The top types of incidents throughout the month were house breaking, theft from/on site and theft of copper.
SUCCESSES
Throughout the month of August we arrested 19 suspects and recovered 25 stolen or hijacked vehicles. 💪
Stolen Nissan 1400 Recovered After Westmead Foot Chase
Our GWA Armed Response Officers, in collaboration with Pinetown SAPS, successfully recovered a stolen Nissan 1400 in the Westmead area and apprehended two suspects after a foot chase. The vehicle, stolen in Polokwane, and the suspects were handed over to Pinetown SAPS for further investigation.
Stolen Vehicles from Morningside Recovered in Successful Operations
Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team, with Tracker SA, Matrix Tracking, Car Track, and SAPS, recovered several stolen vehicles in Morningside this week, including a hijacked Hyundai Venue where the victim was rescued. These efforts demonstrate the team’s commitment to swift recoveries and safety.
Rapid Response Leads to Successful Recovery of Missing Person in Umbilo
Marshall Security, Homeland Security, and medical responders quickly located and stabilised a missing 43-year-old woman in Umbilo, ensuring her safe transport to the hospital. This highlights the team’s swift action and effective collaboration.
