In August, 175 incidents were reported to our Emergency Dispatch Centre. This is a 2% increase compared to the rate we recorded in July 2025. The top types of incidents throughout the month were trespassing, house breaking and copper theft.

Throughout August, we arrested 20 suspects and recovered 5 stolen or hijacked vehicles. 💪


Stolen Toyota Hilux Intercepted Resulting in a Foot Pursuit After Suspect

A stolen Toyota Hilux was recovered after a swift response from Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team. After tracking the vehicle to St Wendolins, a foot pursuit followed when the suspect fled the scene. While the suspect managed to escape, the stolen vehicle was safely recovered and handed over to Berea SAPS for further investigation.

Homeowner Aids in Arrest of Bogus Municipality Scam Suspect

A suspect posing as a municipal worker was apprehended in Sunningdale after a vigilant homeowner, aware of an ongoing scam, alerted Marshall Security. The suspect, linked to a fake water disconnection notice scheme, was handed over to SAPS. eThekwini Municipality confirmed he was not an official.

Eagle-Eyed Officers Spot Stolen Vehicle

While on patrol in Newlands, Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team spotted a suspicious VW Polo. The occupants fled, and the vehicle was found with a damaged ignition. It was later confirmed stolen from a property in Kenville and handed over to SAPS. This highlights our team’s vigilance and rapid response in tackling vehicle crime.
