In August, 159 incidents were reported to our Emergency Dispatch Centre. This is a 2% decrease compared to the rate we recorded in July 2026. The top types of incidents throughout the month were Theft, Trespassing and House Breaking and Theft.

Throughout August, we arrested 22 suspects, recovered 4 stolen vehicles with a combined value of R1,380,000, and recovered 62 stolen items with a combined value of R3,900. 💪
Vehicle Theft Suspect Arrested Following High-Speed Pursuit
A proactive operation by Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team and the Sydenham SAPS Trio Crimes Unit led to the arrest of a suspected vehicle thief following a high-speed pursuit through Sydenham. Officers recovered vehicle-breaking implements, cloned number plates, and other evidence believed to be linked to a series of vehicle thefts.

A vigilant member of the public flagged down a Marshall Security Armed Response Officer after spotting suspicious activity at an unoccupied municipal property in Briardene.
SOT Intercepts Card Scamming Syndicate, Multiple Speedpoint Machines Recovered
Information received following an attempted scam in Ballito led Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team to identify the suspect vehicle during proactive patrols in Umhlanga. A high-speed pursuit followed, resulting in one suspect being successfully apprehended. Numerous Speedpoint machines and keypads believed to have been used in fraudulent activities were also recovered.
