In the first two weeks of July, 108 incidents were reported to our Emergency Dispatch Centre.ย This was approximately 18 incidents less than the incident rateย we recorded during the first two weeks of June 2022. The top types of incidents throughout the month so far were thefts, housebreakings, trespassings and thefts of copper.
SUCCESSES
The month has been off to a good start, we have already arrested 6 suspects (on average we arrest a suspect every 36 hours), and recovered 4 stolen or hijacked vehicles. ๐ช
- Armed Suspect Arrested Following La Lucia Robbery
A known vagrant was arrested for possession of a dangerous weapon after our Armed Response Officers and Special Operations Team members responded to an Armed Robbery.
- Four Wanted Robbery Suspects Successfully Arrested
Our teams managed to successfully arrest four wanted suspects who had been involved in several incidents of robberies and managed to recover various stolen items.
- 2 Minute Response Time Arrest Results In Successful Conviction
A housebreaking suspect was found guilty and imprisoned after our Armed Response Officers and Special Operations Team members found him hiding in the Umgeni Park home he had broken into and immediately placing him under arrest earlier this year.
